cool. i liked your rat series though i havent heard of it before. my only complaint is that the episodes are a little bit short :C

they are kinda, but I asked around to see what people thought was a reasonable time length, and I pretty much got a response stating around 5 minutes. I want to keep them at that time length because anything longer is really overwhelming for me.

Hopefully Rat 3 will come out this or next year rather than 2 years like rat 2. 2 Years is too long for me :3

lol it was only delayed that long because I had to focus on university, but now thats out of the way c:

I absolutely adore your flash series for its style. There can never be enough quality, original submissions like yours here on Newgrounds. I too have a flash series with only two episodes and it's taken me a year to make the third. I feel your pain. Great job, keep it up.

thanks, the thoughest thing with series is that you have to take on every role in the animation pipe line. I find it very helpful to show the wip to freinds to get extra crits, its quite often that the creator can make blatent mistakes here and there and a different person might be able to pick up on it faster.

How do you make animations god dane your lucky I can't find out i've tried everything, and don't say the painting station thet's on computers I think there's not one on here the only other computer thet isn't a laptop is my land computer but thet doesn't have internet. What do I do?

I use a program called Adobe Flash CS3, I feel it has a more acessable time line then toon boom, plus Toon boom isnt so great at interenet content. The program takes some getting used too, but play around with it for a good while and you soon get there c:

Last time I commented on your page I was moaning that your animations weren't scoring high enough. How time have changed :)

The backgrounds this time looked much more atmospheric, I especially loved that opening shot. I'm guessing they were Photoshopped. They were really impressive to look at.

Excellent use of the filters too, from the shading of the characters to the water effects and the glowing eyes of the gas-mask.

Surprisingly, there wasn't any "choppiness" in the animation that is sometimes the downside of an artist using a lot of filters. Perhaps you've found the "magic" frame rate!

Once again, bloody kudos!

How time flies by lol, Yeah I made a lot of amendments to how I create an animation which includes a lot more planning. I must have watched the Rat 2 film 50 times or something making major adjustments to the flow of the story.

The backgrounds were indeed photoshoped, I never tried painting all the backgrounds before so it was a good training exercise to get used to painting things with the program. Seeing its effectiveness in this episode has certainly persuaded me to keep it up for following episodes.

as for filters, I had to find out what was possible with them and what wasn't. I found that flash doesn't like scaling blur filters, but its cool with processing a set of Frames. any scenes that I had to scale with blur effects I replaced the filters with an exported PNG and it reduced the lag perfectly. c:
